PREVIEW: Chris Unarmed for XBLIG

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Our next preview is a platformer called Chris Unarmed by Chris Hughes.  This guy doesn’t even try to fake a company name, which is a good thing, since I think half the XBLIG developers use non-existent company names.  So that’s one point for him.  In Chris Unarmed you “Journey through a world of powerful wind currents, levers, conveyor belts, keys and much more, on a quest to save the world.”  Graphics look fairly simplistic, but because of all the things like said wind currents, etc, it looks like it will have good variety in the levels.  Unfortunately in the video it looks a little “floaty” and I don’t mean when it’s in stuff like air or water, I mean when it’s on regular platforms.  So here’s the trailer without sound:

PREVIEW: Broken Brothers Deluxe

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Our next preview looks pretty unique.  It’s called Broken Brothers Deluxe and it’s by Spyeart.  A strategy game with pleasing but simplistic visuals.  According to the blurb it’s “A real-time strategy game, with twisted angels, industrial spider queens, dog-fighting aircraft, interactive units, over 26 perks, and lots of giant spikes!”  Check out the video:

Some screenshots after the jump.

Preview: Awesome Soccer

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

Awesome Soccer is Awesome.  Okay our next preview is a soccer game called Awesome Soccer by Red27 Studios.  You know what I played that as a kid for about a year or something in grade school.  There was this one game where I managed to score a goal, and it actually got in the paper (this was in Georgia like in the 80’s)  when I was i don’t know 3-4-5th grade.  Ever since then I liked soccer pretty good.  Of course now I don’t play and I don’t watch even though I dig the game.  But that’s another story for another day.  Here’s what Awesome Soccer is about

Awesome Soccer features a superb after-touch system that allows you complete control over the swerve of the ball…you can even bend it in both directions!  Score spectacular goals the great Roberto Carlos would be proud of!”

I mean how Awesome is that?!?
