Remember Super Sprint or Championship Sprint? Super Sprint and it’s successor Championship Sprint, were arcade games released in 1986 by Atari Games. They were cool racing games that were played on a single screen. You could have up to 3 players racing at the same time. After 3 laps the winner advances to the next circuit, with 8 circuits in all. As the player goes to higher levels, more obstacles keep appearing, such as oil puddles, and little tornados. If the player crashes into a wall, a helicopter comes and replaces the car. This makes you lose valuable time needed to win. You can also upgrade your car at the end of each race, by picking up little golden wrenches. This was the most fun, picking up the wrench before your opponent got it. I used think the graphics were really high resolution back in the day, don’t know if that was the case, but it seemed so to me. Championship Sprint, loses one of the drivers, and does different tracks, although the game is pretty much identical. In any case this was one of the really fun games (and towards my last days at the nickel arcade were actually freeplay). So it’s with much anticipation that I play Little Racers by Milkstone Studios, that looks like it could fill in the hole that not playing those old arcade games left.

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009Kitten Sanctuary – Buckets of cuteness!
Monday, May 4th, 2009 Okay so the subject today, students, is cats. No not the musical. I do not understand why anyone would want to watch people prance around in cat costumes. Although maybe watching yummy women in cat costumes… er… never mind. According to Wikipedia, until recently cats were commonly believed to have been domesticated in ancient Egypt. But a study in 2007 showed that cat lines of descent probably run through as few as five self-domesticating African Wildcats. I mean, like wow. Cats making them selves choose fancy feast over Meow Mix? Buying themselves litter boxes and using them, and using words like “indeed” and “so forth”, and so forth. Amazing. What’s even more amazing is a cat’s ability to render a human harmless by simply sitting there looking cute. You know such famous tough guys as Wolverine, Jack Bauer, and John Wayne have been disarmed by little fuzzy bundles of claws playing with balls of yarn or tripping out on catnip! Okay so I made the catnip part up! Who’s to know for sure. I even have a theory of why there are so-called “Cat Ladies” in existence.

(ags) Ben Jordan Case 1 – I must love adventure games about the paranormal.
Sunday, May 3rd, 2009I seem to keep reviewing AGS-made adventure games that revolve around paranormal themes. Okay maybe they’re just making them. Okay so it was just the two Blackwell Games. Okay so Ben Jordan and Blackwell have the paranormal in common, and, the Shivah and Ben Jordan have murder in common. Actually that’s not true. The Shivah had someone die and leave money to the Rabbi. I only played the demo so I don’t know if it has anything to do with murder. Ok so here we go, I already spilled the beans, today’s adventure game is called Ben Jordan, Paranormal Investigator in In Search of the Skunk-Ape by Grundislav Games! Sound intriguing. I bet Skunk-Ape grabbed you right there! As I understand a Skunk-Ape is sort of like a smelly Big Foot. And you all know how smelly feet are! I decided to review the deluxe version, as it seems the creator’s original vision did come up to par with the rest of the series. In any case, let’s see how this thing works out!
