(To the tune of Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer) Well you know Zombies, and Vampires, and Werewolves, and Ninjas, Skeletons, Robots, Samurai, and Vikings, but do you recall, the most famous scoundrels of all… PIRATES! ARRRRGH! Everyone is into pirates nowadays. Seriously. Pirates of the Caribbean, Lego Pirate sets, Puzzle Pirates (Okay I haven’t reviewed it, I haven’t even played it), even real pirates in the news. Everyone is mad, simply MAD about pirates! So it’s with great pleasure I present to you a match-3 type game with a piratey theme. Okay it’s one of those ones where you just click and remove. Technically this could be considered a preview because it’s in beta. It’s done in XNA, so I assume eventually it will get to the XBOX. Anyways, the game is ok. Tuesday, December 15th, 2009Our next banner drawing entrant is Inventive Dingo with Mayhem Intergalactic, a turn-based space-themed strategy game. Your goal is to conquer all the planets before your enemies do by sending ships to attack other planets. Firstly I’d like to say this is pretty fun, like the other similar planet-conquering indie strategy games out there. It’s not really hard to learn as you’re basically pointing and clicking to send ships to your own or enemy planets. You can also upgrade your planets to produce more ships. Awesome Soccer is Awesome
Monday, December 14th, 2009Well, I just thought that was a cool name, not that I necessarily think it’s awesome, not that I necessarily don’t, not that I necessarily, well, I suppose I used necessarily too much. It’s called Awesome Soccer by Red27 Studios! All-in-all it’s a decent soccer game (football for you European folks). Graphics and sound are well done for an indie game, and it’s fun to play. However I think this is more for soccer/sports enthusiasts than general game players. The keyboard control is a little tricky but you can also use a gamepad (I used my wireless xbox360 controller with windows). Gamepad is a lot better for control. Check out some video.
