B.E.E.P. – An exercise in frustration.

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Okay so the title of the review is a bit antagonistic.  At least, it might seem that way to the game’s developer.  I might normally be inclined to change it to put the most positive spin on the game, but this is exactly how I felt while playing the game.  I want to let you know up front that I only played it for 8 or more hours but didn’t complete it.  In B.E.E.P. by Big Fat Alien Games, you play a little robot named B.E.E.P. which stands for Built Exploration Extra-solar Planets.  Actually you play a bunch of them as you undoubtedly will die many, many times.  The game is essentially a physics-based puzzle-platformer (say that “five-times-fast”).  If this is your cup-of-tea then read on.

Avatar Dash – Run, Avatar, run!

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Would you like to play a game?!? You would?  On your Xbox 360?  Really?  What kind of game would you like, I know… a platformer (more or less), where you run and… umm run… and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run…  I know, I know, Canabalt – except that’s only for flash.  Wouldn’t it be great to play Canabalt on the Xbox?  Well now you can… er… sort of… with Avatar Dash – ok ok, I know it’s not the same game… or is it?  Check out this refreshing video and tell me what you think.

More after the jump.

Now I will admit at least half of these if not all are old, it’s because I was constantly gathering links while I wasn’t posting anything but that’s the way it goes, still I think these are interesting enough.  I have some more that I will add in later installments that will probably be old too but still interesting.

In any case some news, basically while I wasn’t writing any reviews I was busy working on my game engine and editor – you can see the progress of this here on My Youtube Channel

In the coming weeks I should be previewing more games, and reviewing more games.  I have sort of a new queue that came up that I’ll get to first before returning to the old queue.  More fun reviews to come!
